One Man’s Journey is the true story of Michael Cunningham Sr.—a boy from Houston who grew up to become a United States Marine, combat photographer, photojournalist, oilfield hand, businessman, homebuilder, sailor, husband, father, and minister.
His road was anything but straight.
It carried him from Marine Corps boot camp to the frozen winds of Iceland, from behind a camera recording history to the rough-and-tumble oilfields, from building businesses and homes to watching nearly everything disappear and starting over again.
There were triumphs. There were failures. There was adventure, heartbreak, laughter, love, and more than a few hard lessons learned the expensive way.
And always, somewhere along the journey, there was the sea.
